  1. Quality Assurance (QA) focuses on providing confidence that the quality requirements will be fulfilled. It entails providing suitable systems, processes, tools, methods, guidelines and templates with right mechanisms at each stage that ensure building quality in the product to be delivered. This is applicable for all the stages right from capturing requirements, through to design, development, testing, release, maintenance and support. It includes defining criteria for the people/role/skills for each of the activities, for selecting right equipments/tools/setups and the approval as well as corrective mechanisms.

Software testing is a process of verification and validation (static and dynamic), concerned with planning, preparation and evaluation of software products and related work products to determine that they satisfy specified requirements, to demonstrate that they are fit for purpose and to detect defects. This ensures that the product is indeed of right quality before it is released to customers/end users.
